Static IP

You can request a static IPv4 (address) at the network tutor. Only a few static IPv4 are available. The request must include a sufficient reason. Remote access is not a sufficient reason, because you can do the same by DynDns service using ports 50000-50010. The standard reason for a static IP is usage of an own server. If a user gets a static IPv4, he will get a special user name for the Internet login. After login with this user name he will get the static IP.

Without an assigned IPv4 address, a login using zxxxxx-ipy is possible. You will get a dynamic IPv4 address and a static IPv6 prefix assigned.

If you use a static IP, more ports are open than using a dynamic IP. You can find the open ports on the page Firewall.
